Consumer Credit Act
Consumer Credit Act License Number: 543735
Why Does Shergroup and its related trading divisions need a Consumer Credit Act Licence?
Shergroup and its related divisions enjoys a Consumer Credit Act Licence under registration number 543735. For us, trading without a licence would amount to a criminal offence which could result in a fine and/or imprisonment. Needless to say we take our obligations to comply with the legislation extremely seriously.
Shergroup requires a licence specifically under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 to enable it to:
- collect debts in various ways through our trading divisions
- help people with debt problems wherever possible
- advise on people's credit standing using data and trends built on analysis of our SHERPA database
- trace individuals and businesses on behalf of clients to establish the whereabouts of debtors
- and as Authorised High Court Enforcement Officers we are required under the High Court Enforcement Officer Regulations 2004 to have such a licence
